NEW! NOTEBOOKS | FIELD NOTES X MAGGIE ROGERS
INSPIRED
From Field Notes: We are big Maggie Rogers fans here at Field Notes, and a little bird told us (thanks Amy!) that Maggie was also a Field Notes fan. So, in late 2019, when her sold-out tour was scheduled to visit Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom, we reached out and invited her to visit HQ, and she accepted.
We chatted and agreed it might be fun to collaborate on a product that we could offer online and Maggie could offer on tour, and we got to work sketching out some ideas. And then, of course, when the pandemic hit, everything changed for us, and especially for the live music industry.
But maybe the delay was, in some weird way, a good thing. We have always loved Maggie’s spare and honest early recordings, and admired Joshua Meier’s just-exactly-perfect photography that accompanied her first two independent releases, The Echo and Blood Ballet. So, when she told us about the upcoming release of Notes from the Archive: Recordings 2011–2016, which is now available, we knew just what to do.
The 2-Packs of journals are 4 1/4" x 6 1/2". The Blood Ballet book has a red back cover and red tinted spine, The Echo one, blue. They are sewn in signature, and made of premium Strathmore covers and inner pages, with tipped-in vellum fly-sheets featuring Maggie’s original hand-written lyrics. These books are the perfect format for personal notes, reflections and sketches.
We hope you dig these journals as much as we enjoyed making them. And we really hope that you get a chance to see Maggie perform live soon. She was kind enough to invite us to that show at The Aragon. Maggie’s performance was amazing, but it was the connection between her and the audience that really inspired us.
