For every mask we sell, Swahili Coast Design and Cooperative donate one to at-risk individuals in Tanzania! Our masks are made in our partner co-operative in Tanzania to guarantee the continued employment of our partner artisans during this challenging time. Tanzania has opted out of many social distancing recommendations, so we are working with our community to help stop the spread.
Our face masks are handmade by artisans in Tanzania of 100% cotton kitenge cloth, a wax print cloth traditional to East Africa. All masks are double-layered and pleated to add additional protection, and we’ve added a pocket between the layers so you can add a filter of your choice for additional protection!

In lieu of elastic bands, we’ve used adjustable fabric ties that will stand up to high heat washing. PLEASE NOTE: This mask does not have a nose clamp.
